I use Amanda 3.3.7 for backing up several filesystems on several clients, with different retention policies for each client. These are backed up to vtapes, and after a successful job are archived to a remote server.

I am changing my mind about retention on one of the filesystems, and want to reduce the tapecycle (it will still be larger than dumpcycle).

If I simply change the amanda.conf for that client's configuration, will AMANDA automatically use a subset of the "tapelist" file and cycle through that subset? If not, what should I do?
