Unhappy Cannot write to tape drive, weird ERROR planner Request to 127.0.0.1 errors in log

Hi all! Sorry to have such a vague subject, but I couldn't figure out what to title it :\

    Server: Debian 8.1
Amanda Version: 3.3.6 (installed from apt)
Tape Changer: Dell PowerVault 124T using LTO4 tape

I have taken over the backup setup, and was told to get it working... and, after a long hard battle, I have got it "functioning". I can use the mtx program to move tapes, amanda can see the current tape when I do an amcheck
    Code:
    amcheck NewSet
    Amanda Tape Server Host Check
    -----------------------------
Holding disk /opt/dumps/amanda: 443342848 KB disk space available, using 442318848 KB
    slot 1: volume 'DailySet-08'
Will write to volume 'DailySet-08' in slot 1.
    NOTE: skipping tape-writable test
NOTE: host info dir /etc/amanda/NewSet/curinfo/127.0.0.1 does not exist
NOTE: it will be created on the next run.
NOTE: index dir /etc/amanda/NewSet/index/127.0.0.1 does not exist
NOTE: it will be created on the next run.
    Server check took 0.195 seconds

    Amanda Backup Client Hosts Check
    --------------------------------
WARNING: 127.0.0.1: selfcheck request failed: recv error: Connection reset by peer
Client check: 1 host checked in 0.002 seconds. 1 problem found.

(brought to you by Amanda 3.3.6)
I am backing up folders on the local machine, so in my disklist, I have:
    Code:
    127.0.0.1 server1 /mnt/raid60_00/backup/server1_20170208 {
            nocomp-user
            holdingdisk never
    } -1 local
when I run the amdump, it generates nothing, and the log says:
    Code:
    INFO amdump amdump pid 9451
    INFO planner planner pid 9452
    INFO driver driver pid 9453
    START planner date 20170210123749
    DISK planner 127.0.0.1 server1
INFO planner Adding new disk 127.0.0.1:server1.
    START driver date 20170210123749
    STATS driver hostname backup02
    STATS driver startup time 0.002
ERROR planner Request to 127.0.0.1 failed: recv error: Connection reset by peer
FAIL planner 127.0.0.1 server1 20170210123749 0 "[Request to 127.0.0.1 failed: recv error: Connection reset by peer]"
FINISH planner date 20170210123749 time 0.002
    INFO planner pid-done 9452
WARNING driver WARNING: got empty schedule from planner
    INFO dumper dumper pid 9455
    INFO taper taper pid 9454
INFO taper Slot 1 with label DailySet-08 is usable
    INFO dumper pid-done 9455
    INFO taper pid-done 9454
FINISH driver date 20170210123749 time 1.211
    INFO driver pid-done 9453
I am not sure where to look, or what to search for error wise to get past this...

as I stated earlier, all the backups that are to be put on tape, are local to the server, so there will never be any pulling of files, and the files will already be compressed (the files are coming from vRanger)

    Anyone have any ideas?

Does anyone have any ideas what I can look for to get this issue fixed?

It just seems like it wont add a job, to write to the tape

Ok, so... working with my boss, we've got it backing up to tape now... it's amazing the config changes we had to make... and add the amanda-client on the server, since it is backing up files on the server, as a client... :\ anyways... this has been resolved.
