Question amrecover returns "Specified file list does not match dumpspec" for all dumps

    Hi,

I've got a backup config working with RAIT to real and virtual tapes on OS X. I am now testing restores and am running into the same problem no matter where the files are located (vtapes, real tapes, both, or holding disk). Amrecover reports:

Specified file list does not match dumpspec (if the file is on a virtual or real tape)
Specified holding file does not match dumpspec (if the file is on a holding disk)

Digging into the amidxtaped.*.debug files on the server and amandad.*.debug, I don't find any more helpful info, even when I crank up debug-levels. Here's a recent amidxtaped.*.debug file:

I've also tried setting the device to "file:/Volumes/Giant Apricot/" and "file:/Volumes/Giant Apricot/slot2/" (which is the correct vtape) from the commandline and from within amrecover. I've even tried passing the device through a symlinked directory that doesn't have a space in case that was the problem (I doubt it is since amrecover fails even with files in the holding disk). If I specify the device, amidxtaped.*.debug looks exactly the same, except without the two chg-disk lines.

Any ideas what would be causing this?

    Thank you,

    Jeremy

The double quote in 'CTL << HOST=^"localhost"$' looks wrong.

What is the hostname in the disklist file? did it use double quote?
What the disklist file look like?

    That's it! Perfect.

I entered sethost "localhost". Removing the quotes solved the issue.

It's somewhat strange behavior since the rest of amrecover understands the quoted hostname, i.e. I can select the disk via setdisk and browse the file hierarchy without an issue. I guess amrecover is more permissive than amidxtaped?

    Thank you,

    Jeremy
