    Default amrecover not working

    Hi Friends
    I configured amanda server and client in Solaris 10 and the amanda back is working fine.But during restore using amrecover i am facing below issue.

    AMRECOVER Version 3.1.0. Contacting server on amanda-zone1 ...
    NAK: user root from amanda-zone2 is not allowed to execute the service amindexd: /newAmanda/.amandahosts: incorrect permissions; file must be accessible only by its owner


    Please find my configuration details.

    Amanda Server
    ===========
    Name : amanda-zone1
    .amandahosts :- amanda-zone2 root amindexd amidxtaped

    inet.conf
    amanda stream tcp nowait amanda /newAmanda/home/libexec/amanda/amandad amandad -auth=bsdtcp amdump
    amandaidx stream tcp nowait amanda /newAmanda/home/libexec/amanda/amindexd amindexd
    amidxtape stream tcp nowait amanda /newAmanda/home/libexec/amanda/amidxtaped amidxtaped

    Amanda Client
    ===========
    Name : amanda-zone2

    amanda-client.conf
    conf "MyConfig" # your config name
    index_server "amanda-zone1" # your amindexd server
    tape_server "amanda-zone1" # your amidxtaped server
    auth "bsdtcp"

    Could you please help me to figure out this issue.

    chmod 600 /newAmanda/.amandahosts

    Question

    Thanks for the update.
    But after changing this privilege i am getting below error.

    AMRECOVER Version 3.1.0. Contacting server on amanda-zone1 ...
    NAK: amindexd: invalid service, add 'amindexd' as argument to amandad

    I added the below entry in inetd.conf [both server and client], but the issue still persisting.
    amanda stream tcp nowait amanda /amanda/home/libexec/amanda/amandad amandad -auth=bsdtcp amdump amindexd

    Do you restarted the inetd daemon? If not, do it

    I restarted the inet serivce[in both client and server] and both machines[Client and server].But the issue is still persisting.
    Pls find the output.
    Server

    bash-3.2# svcs -a | grep amanda
    online 11:03:40 svc:/network/amanda/tcp:default
    online 11:03:40 svc:/network/amandaidx/tcp:default

    Client
    ====

    bash-3.2# svcs -a | grep amanda
    online 9:02:06 svc:/network/amanda/tcp:default

    You proved something is listening on the port, but what is listening? is it with the latest arguments?

    $ svcs -l amanda

    svcs: Pattern 'amanda' doesn't match any instances

    I can't help you more, I'm not a solaris user.

    If 'amanda' is not the right argument, then as a solaris administrator, you should be able to find it.

    I can help you with amanda, but not with solaris.
