Interoperability between Linux Amanda and Solaris, plus default account
I'm actually a network engineer with a noob, Jedi-padawan level of knowledge about Linux and Unix, so please bear with me.
I've built a server running Redhat 5.3 Enterprise, and loaded the included Amanda client package on the server.
The default account is: amanda_client (as I'm sure you all know).
We have an existing Solaris server used for backups, running the Solaris flavor of Amanda.
The Solaris server has a different account name that all of our other servers use.
Is there an easy way to change the client account name to match our Solaris backup server without a total recompile of the client package?
The Linux and Solaris versions are inter-operable, right?
I will attempt to provide some version numbers shortly.
