How to install Amanda on Windows Server
Hello!
I'm pretty new to Amanda, and would like a step by step on how to install Amanda on Windows Server.
I downloaded Amanda-3.3.3.tar, extracted the file in a folder. But don't know how to proceed now.
I read some docs about installation, but all of them mention Linux folders and commands and Cygwin which I have no idea about, would like to understand how to do the installation on Windows, please.
thanks!!

Amanda backup server requires Linux. You can install Zmanda Windows Client for Amanda to backup Windows servers.

Hum ... let me see if I understood!
I need to install Amanda on a Linux Server/Machine ... and then install a Zmanda Windows Client that will do the windows backup on windows machines, right?!

Correct. Amanda has "Amanda Backup Server" and "Amanda Client". Amanda Backup Server needs Linux physical or virtual server. Zmanda Windows Client is the Amanda Client for Windows to backup Windows based systems to the Amanda Backup Server.
