    Default Amanda 3.3.1 + Debian Linux

    Hey everyone,

    I'm trying to get the Debian AMANDA package configured. It seems to be somehow different to the official release so that some configuration HOWTOS like "Amanda in 15 minutes" does not work.

    Does anybody have experience with Debian related AMANDA configuration. Any good documentations? Howtos?

    Greetings and thanks

    I would like to add Non-Debian Linux systems (e.g. CentOS, hhe ZWC works fine most of the time) to the AMANDA Debian Server. I used the rpms from amanda.org and they run under the amandauser (instead of backup). What are the best practices to get these clients running (which files do I need to change, where do I have edit backup as user and where amandabackup).

    Greetings and thanks

    Yes, I need to add the dumptype

    define dumptype abuser {
    client-username "amandabackup"
    }

    for Non-Debian Systems
