Question to use, or not, *multiple* backup sets?

reading wiki & posts, i've managed to confuse myself among multiple backup-sets, schedules & retention times ...

if I want to 'end up' with

monthly FULL backups, retained as archive for 13 months
point-in-time restoration to the hour for two weeks

is this a sufficient/correct schedule? will i have any gaps in restore-ability?

    Code:
     0 1 1 * * /usr/bin/zrm-pre-scheduler --action backup --backup-set DB_MONTHLY --backup-level 0 --interval monthly
     0 2 * * 7 /usr/bin/zrm-pre-scheduler --action backup --backup-set DB_WEEKLY --backup-level 0 --interval weekly
     30 * * * * /usr/bin/zrm-pre-scheduler --action backup --backup-set DB_WEEKLY --backup-level 1 --interval daily
    where

    Code:
      DB_MONTHLY:retention-policy=13M
      DB_WEEKLY:retention-policy=2W
i'm uncertain of/how different backup sets 'communicate' with one another ... and whether or not I should be doing this with more, or fewer, backup sets.
