Some questions before using Amanda 2.5.1

Thanks for read my message,

I'm new with amanda soft, and I have some questions, I installed the default version obtenied through SLES 11 Distro. and I have a HP LTO-4 Ultrium, with 8GB/16GB Tapes.

- Should I have the LTO previously mounted? (befure work with amanda)

- I installed amanda server and client in the same machine where I need to do the backups, this machine has the LTO connected by SAS.I said that because I was looking for amandad deamon but I didn't seen it started.

- I tried to run amcheck Message, but it returns this message:
