    Default Wrong synopsis in the man pages

    I'm not sure if it makes sense to report a bug here. If not, let me know. :)

    The synopsis of all man pages is wrong:

    Code:
    SYNOPSIS
         amcheck [-am] [-w] [-sclt] [-M address] config
                 [host [disk...]...] [-o configoption...]
    This implies to me that I have to specify the config before I can specify the -o options. But it only works if the config is specified after the -o option. I've confirmed that at least for amdump, amflush and amcheck.

    Code:
    $ amcheck daily -o taperalgo=largestfit
    Argument '-o' matches neither a host nor a disk.
    Argument 'taperalgo=largestfit' matches neither a host nor a disk.
    Amanda Tape Server Host Check
    Code:
    $ amcheck -o taperalgo=largestfit daily
    Amanda Tape Server Host Check

    Default

    This is OS dependant, Solaris require the '-o' arguments to be before the config name, It's not required on Linux.

    The SYNOPSIS can be improved for a syntax that works on all OS.
