    Default amrecover Could not read tapelist

    AMRECOVER Version 3.1.1. Contacting server on localhost ...
    220 cvstore AMANDA index server (3.1.1) ready.
    Setting restore date to today (2010-06-30)
    200 Working date set to 2010-06-30.
    501 Could not read tapelist file /etc/amanda/DailySet1/tapelist!

    amcheck and the backup ran just fine

    But I make sure to run as root or I do a su is there a file I have to change to tell amanda to run as root?

    Configuring the server to be run as root is bad, Why do you want amanda to be run as root?
    If so, then amandad on the server must be configure to be run as root too.

    A better solution is to change the dumpuser in amanda.conf to amandabackup and run all amanda command (except amrecover) from the amandabackup user.

    Ok, I changed it to amandabackup, I'll see what happens after a couple of backup jobs, thank you
