    Question Quantum LTO4-HH tape: "Error writing block: Success"

    hi all!

    having a very strange problem with writing to tape:

    Code:
    driver: state time 46570.974 free kps: 102400 space: 219000727 taper: DOWN idle-dumpers: 2 qlen tapeq: 0 runq: 0 roomq: 0 wakeup: 0 driver-idle: no-dumpers
    driver: interface-state time 46570.974 if default: free 102400
    driver: hdisk-state time 46570.974 hdisk 0: free 219000727 dumpers 0
    driver: result time 46570.974 from taper: PARTIAL 00-00002 INPUT-GOOD TAPE-ERROR "[sec 101.419023 kb 2824896 kps 27853.709456]" "" "Error writing block: Success"
    driver: finished-cmd time 46570.974 taper wrote nfs02.cluster1:/data/cpscl01/home/totape
    driver: taper failed nfs02.cluster1 /data/cpscl01/home/totape with tape error: Error writing block: Success
    driver: taper will retry nfs02.cluster1 /data/cpscl01/home/totape
    driver: state time 46570.974 free kps: 102400 space: 219000727 taper: DOWN idle-dumpers: 2 qlen tapeq: 1 runq: 0 roomq: 0 wakeup: 0 driver-idle: no-dumpers
    driver: interface-state time 46570.974 if default: free 102400
    driver: hdisk-state time 46570.974 hdisk 0: free 219000727 dumpers 0
    driver: QUITTING time 46570.974 telling children to quit
    driver: send-cmd time 46570.974 to dumper0: QUIT ""
    driver: send-cmd time 46570.975 to dumper1: QUIT ""
    driver: send-cmd time 46570.975 to taper: QUIT
    taper: DONE
    tape drive is an Quantum LTO4-HH, which supposed to have 800Gb uncompressed space on tape.

    tapetype is following (done with amtape):

    Code:
    define tapetype LTO4HH {
        comment "Quantum Ultrium LTO4 HH; compression enabled, blocksize 64K"
        length 815592896 kbytes
        filemark 5450 kbytes
        speed 73976 kps
        blocksize 64 kbytes
    }
    anyone has any ideas why this might happen? I will try again the dump with another tape, but doubt that this is a HW problem.

    btw, tests with small chunks of data (up to 10Gb) were passed previously whithout any problems, no config changes were made since then.

    appreciate your help!
