Thread: Ubuntu & Zmanda Management Console

  1. #1

Question Ubuntu & Zmanda Management Console

After Installation of the Server some things are missing:

    ZMC (is this implemented yet?)

ammt - tells me not installed "try install it with apt-get amanda-server"

    i installed amanda over deb package - version 2.6.1p1 - apt-get only installs v. 2.5.2p1

    My Ubuntu: 9.04 "Jaunty".

Did i do something wrong or is it simply not supported with the community version? Is there a difference between Enterprise and Community Server with the features?

Maybe someone can help me out with this issue.

Would love to configure and monitor my backups with ZMC.

ok, i read some stuff about it and got the feeling it's like that.

    what about ammt?

can i buy the enterprise server and use for the clients community versions?

will amc be available for community too?

    thanks again.

ammt was removed in Amanda-2.6.0, as it's no longer meaningful with the new Device API. I'm not sure why debian is still suggesting that you install Amanda.

in the 15 min. backup solution (what a joke btw.)

it's described to use ammt to check that all the virtual tapes under uranium install:

    6. Test the virtual tape setup.

    Code:
    -bash3.00$ ammt -f file:/space/vtapes/DailySet1/slots status
    OK - i don't need it - fine.

Since i see this structure - next question:

What about this DailySet1 - it never existed. - i had to create it - and copy all the examples and stuff to /etc/amanda/DailySet1

After installation only a empty /etc/amanda/ exists.
