Yes, most of these should be owned by amandabackup and in group disk. How do you think these got changed? Here is what I have.

I have absolutely no idea how this happened. I may change it when the actual run is done. I have just installed the Amanda Debian package from this site here. Maybe itīs a bug in this package?

As I said I have moved everything from ZWC to SAMBA but I still have a lot of problems backing up my Windows machines.

Hopefully backup finishes in the next few hours so that I can tell you where the actual problems are.

I have changed it now to amandabackup.disk. Would you suggest me to run another testrun?

I would certainly be interested to see the result.

Im going to start a run today.
Before I can do that, here is what I got last time.

    Code:
    Hostname: Backup
    Org : DailySet1
    Config : DailySet1
    Date : January 15, 2009

These dumps were to tape DailySet1-002.
There are 1M of dumps left in the holding disk.
Run amflush to flush them to tape.

The next tape Amanda expects to use is: 1 new tape.

How comes this? This appears since I have updated to Lenny.

Is this run before the permission changes? The entry that got the Access Denied succeeded on a retry so it wasn't a show stopper.

What are the Amanda client logs saying?

As for amstatus, I've been seeing this type of error message more frequently. It is a switch that is used in the perl script. According to perl

    -T enable tainting checks

It is some type of strict checking/enforcing. If it is from amstatus, you should see a "T" in the first line of the file. You can test removing it.

    endbackup: Spawning "/usr/bin/smbclient smbclient "\\\\DC01\\PUBLIC" -U amandabackup -E -W verwaltung-ffg.local -d0 -Tqca -" in pipeline
there is password shown up. Is it correct so? Maybe he gets a ACCESS DENIED because he tries to connect without given a password???

    Edit:
This what I have in my amanda.conf. Maybe Amanda is confused about this settings?

    Code:
dumpcycle 1 weeks # the number of days in the normal dump cycle
runspercycle 1 # the number of amdump runs in dumpcycle days
                            # (4 weeks * 5 amdump runs per week -- just weekdays)
tapecycle 4 tapes # the number of tapes in rotation
                            # 4 weeks (dumpcycle) times 5 tapes per week (just
                            # the weekdays) plus a few to handle errors that
                            # need amflush and so we do not overwrite the full
                            # backups performed at the beginning of the previous
                            # cycle

The "NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED" message does occur if authentication is not correct while using smbclient so this is a good guess/lead. Have you tried using smbclient directly on the commandline from your Amanda server to one of these Windows shares such as PUBLIC?

Yes I had tried this before.

Isnīt it some kind of strange that he tries
    Code:
    Spawning "/usr/bin/smbclient smbclient "\\\\DC01\\PUBLIC" -U amandabackup -E -W verwaltung-ffg.local -d0 -Tqca -" in pipeline
this command? /usr/bin/smbclient/smbclient??? And what is about the password? It ist not listed in the logs like this -U amandabackup%MyPASSWORD. Is it correct like this?

I will post the output later this day.
