    Default Restore to Windows mysql?

    Hello All,
I have a backup from our production systems taht I want developers to install on their local (windows) machines for testing. They have no local unix machine to run the zrm restore.

Looking at the uncompressed backup_data, it appears to be pretty vanilla but has some funky stuff at the start that stops me from just piping it into mysql via the command line.

Is there a way to restore on of these backups to a windows mysql install?

From your description, it appears that you are using logical backups. You should be able to restore to windows machine as long as the MySQL server on the windows machine is compatible with production machine.

Yep, doing logical backups...but without the zrm tools, how does on restore a logical backup?

If you are not using compression or encryption, you should be able provide the backup image as input to mysql command.
