Default permision denied on label command 2.6.3

    Hi,
I just installed 2.6.3 enterprise and I am trying to label a tape. The /dev/nst0 has a 777 permision with amandabackup as the user and disk as the group.
    Any ideas?

    also if I do
    su amandabackup
    then
    tar -cvf /dev/nst0 /home/user

It writes to the tape without error.

I did that already but haven't gotten a working answer yet. I was hoping somone here may have an idea or have run into this before.
