View Full Version : Debian Etch w/ MySQL Binary install

Hello all,

I am looking at using Zmanda for our backup needs. However, I have run into a problem. I don't see any other postings about this so I thought I would ask.

We run Debian Etch on our servers. In addition, we manually install MySQL binaries from the mysql website (we don't use the mysql .deb packages another words).

I tried to use the Zmanda debian packages to set up testing but they don't like that I don't have the mysql debian packages installed. Is there any way to do this without actually downloading the tar files of zmanda and compiling? I don't want to have to set up all that stuff just to get a test going and I really don't want that on our production servers.

Hope this all makes sense :)

Thanks. We will remove mysql-client dependency on mysql-zrm debian package and mysql-server dependency on mysql-zrm-socket-server package in the next release.

You can use dpkg --force-depends as a workaround.
