Hi paddy

my chg-scsi -scan error: chg-scsi: open debug directory: Permission denied

I am installing the amanda2.50-fc package after I uninstall the amanda package that came with FC-5 [amanda2.4.5], I found tmp/amanda it owned by amanda user;

I try to build the package using amanda user from your amanda.spec and it working just fine. You could download the package from http://www.unpak.org/mcms/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=21&Itemid=2
this is to preventing error when user/admin try to upgrade thier system.

Cheers
Usman

If you are upgrading from existing amanda RPMs (installed from linux distribution),
you should remove the old RPMs and install RPMs from Zmanda web page.

You should also identify all files owned by "amanda" and change the ownership to
"amandabackup". You should also modify xinetd services file or xinetd.conf to change
user from "amanda" to "amandabackup".

Please see http://wiki.zmanda.com/index.php/Amanda_RPMs_from_Zmanda_downloads_page for the differences.
