When using amfetchdump, how to know which index files are needed in order to restore given files?

I find that all the index files are stored in /etc/amanda/myconfig/index/myclient/mydiskdev/, but I don't think it's a good idea to search all the indexed .gz files to see which files contain my specified files to be restored.

Any ideas? thanks.

If you want to leverage the indices, use amrestore instead of amfetchdump

It should be amrecover (http://wiki.zmanda.com/index.php/amrecover). amrecover command allows user to browse amanda indexes.
