Hi:

I'm running MediaWiki (the same software used to run Wikipedia.org) on a SUSE Linux box and need to back it up to an external hard drive (we were going to back it up using Tivoli under AIX but that's another story :-). Ideally I'd like to admin the external drive from XP. Is this possible? If not what would you suggest?

Thanks

Sachin

Hi,

You can go for Amanda Enterprise Edition 2.6 (http://www.zmanda.com/amanda-enterprise-edition.html).

It has Zmanda Management Console (ZMC), ZMC is a web based service integrated with Zmanda Network. It provides management and visualization tools for all day-to-day activities of a backup administrator. This can be done through Firefox/IE on XP.

You can view the demo - http://www.zmanda.com/ZMC-Short-Demo/ZMC-Short-Demo.html

For more details register at http://network.zmanda.com/register.php
Or contact (888) 4ZMANDA (888.496.2632)

Thanks,
Sachin

Thanks. We will look into that. For now I must use the Amanda version which come w/Suse 10 Enterprise. Is there a GUI front end for this (I grew up on Windoze95 :-) ?
