View Full Version : ZRM integration with Percona XTraBackup -- which versions?

Is the non-blocking backup feature, making use of Percona's XTraBackup:

"ZRM provides support for non-blocking backups of MySQL using Percona XtraBackup. This combination provides resource utilization management by providing throttling based on the number of IO operations per second. Percona XtraBackup based backups also allow for table level recovery even though the backup was done at the database level (needs the recovery database server to be Percona Server with XtraDB)."

only an Enterprise feature? or also available in Community?

If it's in Community as well, where's the documentation for it's configuration & use?

Couple of specific questions:

(1) Is a version of XTraBackup bundled with ZRM? If so, what version? If not, are there any version requirements/restrictions?
(2) ZRM supposedly "works with MariaDB". Is that compatibility provided by ZRM itself, or by Percona's Xtrabackup? Is it known to successfully hot-backup, and resotre, MariaDB 10.x?
(3) The Perona-intergration "needs the recovery database server to be Percona Server with XtraDB". Is that still true? MariaDB 10.x ships with XtraDB now ... is the presence of the XtraDB engine the actual requirement? or is the actual Percona Server required as well?
