I setup my Server and configured via: http://wiki.zmanda.com/index.php/GSWA/Build_a_Basic_Configuration

Then I followed: http://wiki.zmanda.com/index.php/Zmanda_Windows_Client

So my config looks like this:

org "MyConfig"
mailto "admin@company.com"
infofile "/amanda/state/curinfo"
logdir "/amanda/state/log"
indexdir "/amanda/state/index"
dumpuser "amandabackup"

tpchanger "chg-disk:/amanda/vtapes"
labelstr "MyData[0-9][0-9]"
autolabel "MyData%%" EMPTY VOLUME_ERROR
tapecycle 4
dumpcycle 3 days
amrecover_changer "changer"

tapetype "TEST-TAPE"
define tapetype TEST-TAPE {
length 1024 mbytes
filemark 4 kbytes
}

define dumptype simple-gnutar-local {
auth "local"
compress none
program "GNUTAR"
}

define dumptype zwc-compress {
global
auth "bsdtcp"
maxdumps 1
compress client fast
program "DUMP"
}

holdingdisk hd1 {
directory "/amanda/holding"
use 50 mbytes
chunksize 1 mbyte
}

Prior to following the Windows client wiki page, everything was working fine, however now when I run amcheck MyConfig I get:

"/etc/amanda/MyConfig/amanda.conf", line 28: dumptype parameter expected
amcheck: errors processing config file

I found a few posts talking about adding the dumptypes to templates.d/dumptypes, so I took that file, 400+ lines added the 2 dumptypes for zwc to it and used includfile in my amanda.conf file but same errors.

Had an ah ha moment a few minutes after this post looking through the templates.d/dumptypes file

I just removed the gobal line from my amanda.conf file so it now looks like:

org "MyConfig"
mailto admin@company.com"
infofile "/amanda/state/curinfo"
logdir "/amanda/state/log"
indexdir "/amanda/state/index"
dumpuser "amandabackup"

tpchanger "chg-disk:/amanda/vtapes"
labelstr "MyData[0-9][0-9]"
autolabel "MyData%%" EMPTY VOLUME_ERROR
tapecycle 4
dumpcycle 3 days
amrecover_changer "changer"

tapetype "TEST-TAPE"
define tapetype TEST-TAPE {
length 1024 mbytes
filemark 4 kbytes
}

define dumptype simple-gnutar-local {
auth "local"
compress none
program "GNUTAR"
}

define dumptype zwc-compress {
auth "bsdtcp"
maxdumps 1
compress client fast
program "DUMP"
}

holdingdisk hd1 {
directory "/amanda/holding"
use 50 mbytes
chunksize 1 mbyte
}
