Gurjit,

can you please post the contents of your mysql-zrm.conf file from /etc/mysql-zrm/gurjit/

also, how big is the database that you are trying to backup.

and can you run the following command and copy/paste the output.

mysql-zrm-reporter

Thanks!

I will also email this request to you. But if you can please try to post your answers here so other users of the forum may benefit from this as well :)

Hi,

Since your backup is compressed you will not find any file or directory with the name of your database.
You will typically find two files index and backup-data

If you want to see the uncompressed version of your backup, please run

mysql-zrm --action extract-backup --source-directory /var/lib/mysql-zrm/gurjit/20070125075444

Then go to /var/lib/mysql-zrm/gurjit/20070125075444. There you will find your backup files in the uncompressed form.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

Thanks, i didn't found any file the way you asked me to see, except the 2 file which was already there, backup-data and index. i followed the followinig steps.

[root@dev0 root]# mysql-zrm --action extract-backup --source-directory /var/lib/mysql-zrm/gurjit/20070129043002/
INFO: ZRM for MySQL Community Edition - version 1.1.3

[root@dev0 root]# ls -l /var/lib/mysql-zrm/gurjit/20070125075444/ total 8
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1695 Jan 25 07:54 backup-data
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 824 Jan 25 07:54 index

But thanks for your response, i got the solution, as you say it is happening because of compression, i have have disable the compression in the conf file, it is working now , now i am able to see the file under the backup directory.

But my next question is , how can i enable the compression ??

and can you also tell me whether there is any limitation on the size of database ??

Thanks

You need to specify the appropriate source-directory. Currently you are running the command with the source directory as /var/lib/mysql-zrm/gurjit/20070129043002/ but looking at /var/lib/mysql-zrm/gurjit/20070125075444/

If you need the backup in /var/lib/mysql-zrm/gurjit/20070125075444/ to be extracted, tthen please use the command

mysql-zrm --action extract-backup --source-directory /var/lib/mysql-zrm/gurjit/20070125075444/

You do not need to disable compression for this.
