View Full Version : Secure transfer - "Storage Cloud communication error"

March 7th, 2011, 01:36 PM
I have been successfully backing up my data to the cloud. However, if I check "Secure transfer to Cloud," I receive an error, "Storage Cloud Communication Error."

Are there pre-requisites for successful secure transfer?

Windows Small Business Server 2003 R2
Zmanda Cloud Backup 3.0.2

Is port 443 open?

As far as I can tell, port 443 is open. I connect to the server via remote web workplace on port 443 at https://<server>. I just ran a nmap port scan from the outside, and it reported that 443/tcp is open. Windows Firewall - which is hidden inside Routing and Remote Access Services - says that Secure Web Server (HTTPS) is forwarding packets from port 443 to port 443.

Just for grins, I disabled the firewalls on our routers, and disabled the "Basic Firewall" in RRAS, but I still received the same error, "Storage Cloud Communication Error."

What I don't understand is if the port is only connected to the web server and if ZCB & java need to get access to that port.
