Hello folks,

i hope you can help me to solve my problems.
My problem is that the differential backup will not work and i dont realy know how.
At first my test setup:
Red Hat 5.5 as amandaserver
Ubuntu 10.04 as client
Win XP as client

amcheck and amdump works well.
The Strategy:
Friday Night: Fullbackup
Monday to Thursday: Differential Backup
There are 1TB(4x1; sata0 - sata3) HDDs for every week.

But when i run amdump: it allways do fullbackups.
My first Question: How to run differential backups

The other question is: I need to test my configuration. so i need to reset my vTapes.
I tried it with amrmtape an amlabel. This will not work very well.
So i need a tip how to reset the tape(erase date an fresh for amdump)

Here my config:
[amanda.conf]

org "CSG1" # your organization name for reports
mailto "root@localhost" # space separated list of operators at your site
dumpcycle 1 week # the number of days in the normal dump cycle
runspercycle 27 # the number of amdump runs in dumpcycle days
tapecycle 10 tapes # the number of tapes in rotation
runtapes 1 # number of tapes to be used in a single run of amdump
tpchanger "chg-disk" # the tape-changer glue script
tapedev "file://sata0" # the no-rewind tape device
changerfile "/etc/amanda/CSG1/changer.conf" # tape changer configuration parameter file
changerdev "/dev/null" # tape changer configuration parameter device
tapetype HARDDISK # what kind of tape it is
labelstr "CSG1" # label constraint regex: all tapes must match
dtimeout 1800 # number of idle seconds before a dump is aborted
ctimeout 30 # max number of secconds amcheck waits for each client
etimeout 300 # number of seconds per filesystem for estimates
define dumptype global {

}
define dumptype gui-base {

define tapetype HARDDISK {

}
