How big does the directory /opt/zmanda/amanda/apache2/htdocs/zmanda-ui/ZMC/RestoreRestore have to be to allow restores?

I am trying to restore just a few GB of files, but the above directory is filling up my root filesystem and ZMC crashes when that happens (MySQL dies).

The directory fills up with dozens of files that are all 100MB:

-rw-r----- 1 amandabackup disk 100M Sep 3 23:41 localhost._pool2_backups_mail.20100413164517.0.000 0003
-rw-r----- 1 amandabackup disk 100M Sep 3 23:41 localhost._pool2_backups_mail.20100413164517.0.000 0005

My destination and tmp holding directory are elsewhere, on other filesystems.

I guess I can work around this by modifying Apache to allow symlinks and then symlinking the directory somewhere else. Any ideas? Does this directory need to be big enough to hold several entire tape's worth of data?

[Update: Modifying httpd.conf did not work, probably needed to update PHP to allow symlinks as well. I've relocated /opt to a larger filesystem and symlinked it back to / ... and now ZMC is unusable. Sigh. I guess I need to reinstall Solaris and ZMC. ]
