Hi,
Earlier i was using amanda 2.5.2p1 with solaris 10 and it was working fine.
Y'day i applied Solaris Update 7 to Solaris 10 and the backup fails as the
amcheck command execution got hanged with following error

bindportrange2: Try Port 512:Available-permission Denied
.....

bindportrange2: Try Port 1023:Available-permission Denied
.....
and

amverfiy command failed with the error

line 378:[:count:interger expressed expected

-----
line 378:[:count:interger expressed expected

Should have to upgrade to new version of Amanda software or Is there any workaround in some configuration files to make these commands work ?

Thanks in advance for your help.

My only thought on this is that the update lowered the upper limit of which UIDs are considered privileged users and able to open ports beneath 1024?

The amverify error reminds me of another forum post where a solaris user was getting a strange error about integer and possibly count. I can't seem to relocate the post right now, however.
