View Full Version : Is HP StorageWorks LTO-4 Ultrium 1760 SCSI External Tape Drive supported by Amanda?

Hi all,

I am currently using amanda 2.5.2p1 in solaris.Recently we have bought
SUN Tape Drive (Model:BRSLA - 0704 - AC)
i(.e)HP StorageWorks LTO-4 Ultrium 1760 SCSI External Tape Drive.In the www.amanda.org,i could not find that this particular drive is supported.

can u please lert me know whether this tape drive is supported or not?If supported ,how to define this tape drive in the amanda.conf?

Hello, Amanda supports any drive that can be controlled by the UNIX/Linux "mt" command. If you can operate your tape drive with this command, so can Amanda. You configure Amanda to use this tape drive with the Amanda "tapedev" parameter using the device name of the drive, for ex. /dev/nst0.
