Hi folks,

I run Amanda on Debian and I have to backup shares on Windows 2003 and Windows NT.

I have mounted those shares with mount -t smbfs and I have done backups until now with tar.

Is it a good idea to use Amanda with shares mounted with 'mount -t smbfs' ?

Kind Regards

Michel

Yes. You can use Amanda with shares mounted as -t smbfs.

In fact, Amanda can also backup using Samba. See Amanda wiki for more
information (http://wiki.zmanda.com/index.php/Backup_client#Windows_client).
