View Full Version : separate filesystems are ignored (new disk ignored)

March 31st, 2010, 02:58 AM

We are setting up a new Amanda cluster on CentOS 5.4. We use the default repository amanda with build: VERSION="Amanda-2.5.0p2"

We create the disklist, and everything is backuped. Except if it's on a different filesystem.
I have the following in my disklist file;

confluence.x.x /etc comp-tar
confluence.x.x /opt/confluence comp-tar

on the confluence machine;
/dev/sda1 on / type ext3 (rw,errors=remount-ro)
/dev/sdb1 on /opt type ext3 (rw,errors=remount-ro)

The first filesystem is backuped correctly. The second one is not backuped.

If i do a balance (/usr/sbin/amadmin intra balance) it shows that the new disk is ignored;

new disk confluence.spine.q-go.net:/opt/confluence ignored.

But no clue why!!!!

If i backup 2 directories which are on the same filesystem it goes well.

Could some please help me out?

The "ignored" is because Amanda can't give any balancing information about a disk it hasn't backed up yet.

Can you post the report from the backup in which the /opt/confluence backup fails?

We finally found out what the problem was. It was the "backup-tape" size. This caused that we got an error that the data partition (what always was the case with the separate filesystems) could not be backuped.

Thanks for the reply!
