Hi!

I am new to Amanda, but I thought it's worth giving it a try. My situation is that I need to backup Windows 2k Servers onto a tape's (once per month) and on harddisk every day (probably).

I am trying to run windows client and it communicates with server bu there are errors in amcheck:

ERROR: p202-z.somedomain: [can not execute /bin/dump: No such file or directory]
ERROR: p202-z.somedomain: [can not execute /usr/sbin/restore: No such file or directory]
ERROR: p202-z.somedomain: [can not read/write /etc/dumpdates: No such file or directory]

I have tried to uninstall the client and install it again - no difference. Maybe I need some symlinks on cygwin environment, but there are no coresponding files found nowhere.

Does anyone know what might be wrong? I am using the latest version 2.5.1.p1 (client and server).

Regards,
Krzysztof

Hello,

What dumptype are you using on the server side for this DLE. Please post the dumptype definition you are using.

Please use "program GNUTAR" in your dumptype (http://wiki.zmanda.com/index.php/Amanda.conf#DUMPTYPE_SECTION) for Windows client DLEs. Please take a look at Amanda wiki (http://wiki.zmanda.com) for more information.

The default value "program DUMP" will not work on Windows client because windows does not have filesystem dump capability.

As Pavel suggested, please post dumptype configuration for Windows client DLEs if you still have problems.
