I'm trying to backup System State for our domain controller using zmanda enterprise. The domain controller is running Windows Server 2008.

I have the backup set configured and I can tell that it is running. From the event log on the domain controller I can see that it is starting the VSS service and creating a snapshot. After that it just seems to hang for 15-20 minutes and then the client service completely dies and I get this error in the event log:

In the zmanda mgt console, I get this message in the log:

I've followed all the instructions I can find for backing up system state from a domain controller and I can't seem to get around this. Any help is appreciated.

Looking at the information provided, it appears this is a known issue and a patch is available. Please contact Zmanda support for the patch.

thanks,
Paddy

Thanks for the reply. What patch are you talking about? Is it referenced in the forums or the documentation anywhere?

The only one I could find is the upgrade from 3.0 to 3.0.1. I applied that one and still have the same problem.

Any other ideas?

I'm having this issue as well and I don't see any applicable patches in my "My Portal" page.

Is this an update to the backup server or the client software?

Please contact Zmanda support for the patch. They would like to verify if this crash will be fixed by the patch. The patch is not generally available right now.
