Hi,

is it possible to restore Windows ACLs with the Comunity Edition?
I downloaded version 2.6.1p1 for ubuntu 8.04 and ZWCInstaller-Community-26.zip
from http://www.zmanda.com/download-amanda.php .

If I restore a deleted file all changes to the acls (new user, changed read/write rights...) are lost.
I tried using winrar, 7zip, pkzip from pkware and the Windows XP built-in zip.
I also tried a german Windows XP as well as an english one.

Has anyone ever successfully restored ACLs? If so would you mind giving me a short howto?

Regards,
Ulrich

Anyone?
If you are not into writing a howto just give a short answer like "yes" please.

Ulrich

Restoring ACLs is not possible in ZWC community edition. It is supported in ZWC Enterprise Edition.

Maybe there is any plans to add support of Windows ACL's to community version? :)

Is there any way to replace pkzip with other tool to dump data using ACL-aware archiver using configuration options?

Is there any place where someone can get source of ZWC?

Or is there any other amanda win32 client, which is not deprecated cygwin version and not ZWC?

Windows ACL are backed up but unfortunately, PKZIP is not able to read it.

We are working on providing a restore option similar to amrecover.
