Hi,

I am new to amanda backup, I am trying to restore a file to client and I am getting the following error message.

amrestore: error reading file header: Input/output error
amrestore: WARNING: not at start of tape, file numbers will be offset
amrestore: missing file header block
amrestore: error reading file header: Input/output error
amrestore: could not fsf /dev/nst0: Input/output error

Thanks

Can you give more context?

Does your kernel's log give any indication of what's wrong? IO Error is basically the kernel's way of saying "oh no!!", without giving much detail.

Does the same problem happen with amrecover or amfetchdump?
