Hi Paddy - does the backup user need SUPER rights in order to perform incremental backups?

Hi Bethany,

In 1.0.2, there is a bug that requires SUPER, REPLICATION CLIENT for incremental backups.

In 1.0.3 (which will be released today), the backup user will need SUPER privilege for incremental backups.

Thanks! Also, are incremental backups only supported when running mysql-zrm on the machine local to the mysql databases? I'm trying to do an incremental backup of a different host, but the backups are failing because zrm is trying to copy the bin logs from the local filesystem rather than the remote one:

INFO: Getting list of binary logs using command mysql --user=dba-backup --password=***** --host=db.is.gatech.edu -e "show master logs"
INFO: cp -p "/var/lib/mysql/db-bin.000001" "/var/lib/mysql-zrm/db/20060922134922/db-bin.000001"
cp: cannot stat `/var/lib/mysql/db-bin.000001': No such file or directory

Hi Bethany,

Incremental backups/restoration are supported only on local machine. We will
add remote support in a future release.
