Technical Support Engineer

The Technical support engineer will be responsible for providing first
and second level support to Zmanda customers and community.
Candidate must have a passion to provide the best in class service to customers.

Preferred Location: Sunnyvale, CA. Candidate will be expected to work in Eastern Time Zone.

Responsibilities:

* Answer Amanda backup and MySQL Backup software questions over
phone, email, IM, mailing lists and forums.
* Document Zmanda Product solutions in the Knowledgebase.
* Integrate and test various Amanda solutions to meet customer
requirements.
* Participate in product testing prior to product release
* Maintain good records in Customer support tracking tool
* Provide pre-sales technical support on a as needed basis
* Develop and Review training and tutorial content.
* Be on call for customer problems after hours and weekends.


Qualifications:

* Minimum 2+ years experience required in a customer support role.
* Strong technical problem solving skills.
* Good Unix and Windows System administration skills.
* Good working knowledge of Databases (Oracle, MySQL, etc) desired
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Knowledge of Open Source software required.
* Team player.
* Ability to balance customer requirements and company goals.
* Experience with backup and recovery software and practices
strongly desired.
* Ability to work in fast paced and dynamic work environment.
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Equivalent.
