Default Error while deleting MSSQL backup from disk ZWC_MSSQL_COMPONENT_FULL_BACKUP_NOT_FOUND

    Hi,

We use ZCB 4.11 - 40277 and Java 1.7.0_21 to backup a local MSSQL 2012 instance.

We use the Monthly Full + Daily deffirential + Hourly incremental schedule template. After upgrading from 4.5 to 4.11 (wondering whats about the version numbering scheme ;-) ) the incremental backup gets the error ZWC_MSSQL_COMPONENT_FULL_BACKUP_NOT_FOUND after the backup is made and has been uploaded to the cloud!

Does anyone know what this means?

Offcourse we performed a full backup which was succesfully made.

    Best regards,
    Stefan

    Hi Stefan,

Usually this indicates that one or more databases was added to the backup set after the most recent full backup.

    Example:
Full backup was taken on Monday, and SQL Server contained Database A.
Database B is added Tuesday morning, so SQL Server Contains Databases A & B.
Incremental backup is taken Tuesday night. Database A is backed up incrementally, but Database B can't be since a full was never taken. Database B is skipped for backup, and the status code ZWC_MSSQL_COMPONENT_FULL_BACKUP_NOT_FOUND is displayed.

Take a new full backup of the entire SQL Server and the status/error should go away for future incremental backups. If it does not go away after taking a new full backup, please open a support ticket so we can investigate.

There are good changes coming down the line for detection of this sort of scenario, as well as more informative messages. These changes will most likely be in the 4.12 release, but don't take that as a promise.

I would also suggest you upgrade your Java if possible, as many security patches have been released since Update 21. Java 7 Update 60 is the current version as of today.

As for the naming convention, we simply didn't feel that ZCB 4.11 was a dramatic enough change to warrant an update to 5.0. We have 4.12 under development right now, but a 5.0 is on the roadmap.

    Hi Eric_R,

You're right. What's strange is that we have made a full backup with all databases included. But after making a fresh ful backup the error disappeared.

Rearding to the naming convention, i'm sorry, i missunderstood the versions. I interpreted 4.5 as 4.50, so 4.11 looked like a lower version (like 4.1, 4.11, 4.2, 4.21 and so on..). Now i anderstand you interpreted it as 4.05.

    Thanks for your reply.

    Regards,

    Stefan

Hello Andersan. Could you elaborate a bit about what your problem is? Are you having some sort of problem similar to the original posting in this thread? Do the instructions provided above not work?
