Post amrecover: cannot connect to amandahost: No such file or directory

    Hello all,
I have just installed and configured my first amanda server. v 2.5.0p2 (rpm install with centos 5.5). For starters, I set up a simple full backup to tar up some file locally on the amanda server, and write them to tape. Everything was easy and seemed to work perfectly.

When trying to run a restore, I run into this error message:

    [root@host]# amrecover fullback
AMRECOVER Version 2.5.0p2. Contacting server on amandahost ...
amrecover: cannot connect to amandahost: No such file or directory
and the contents of the amrecover log:

    amrecover: debug 1 pid 10844 ruid 0 euid 0: start at Thu Feb 24 09:44:10 2011
    amrecover: stream_client_privileged: gethostbyname(amandahost) failed
amrecover: cannot connect to amandahost: No such file or directory
amrecover: pid 10844 finish time Thu Feb 24 09:44:10 2011
If anyone has any troubleshooting tips, or has seen this before, you're help would be much appreciated.

    Default solved

OK, so I think I may have solved my issue myself.

It worked when I executed the amrecover command specifying the index server and tape server like this:
    [root@host]#amrecover fullback -s <indexserver> -t <tapeserver>

    Hope this helps other newbies.
